4 Days Uganda Safari Tour – Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & an En-route Lunch in Fort Portal Town

Following an early morning breakfast, you will be picked up by our professional driver guide and embark on a distance drive of 417kms about 6-7 hours’ drive from Kampala City to Queen Elizabeth National Park-Uganda’s finest wildlife safari destination.

The drive will take you through the impressive countryside landscapes with rural settings and local populations. Arrive in Fort Portal town for a lunch stopover.

After, continue with the drive distance of 144kms to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving late in the evening like at 6-7 pm and drive to your pre-booked lodge for Diner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Mweya Safari Lodge (Upmarket/Luxury), Enganzi Lodge (Midrange/Standard) or Pumba Safari Cottages (Budget/Basic).

Day 2: Do a Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After taking an early morning cup of tea, start with an interesting early morning wild game viewing in the rolling savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The drive will take you through Kasenyi which is a dwelling place for a unique range of wildlife including elephants, buffaloes, lions, and waterbucks.

The sights and views of an elusive leopard, defassa waterbuck, Uganda kob, Side stripped Jackal; Oribis among others might not be missed. Retreat from the 3 – 4 hour game drive activity to transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The drive will take you through the prominent Ishasha sector where you will have the possibility of meeting the tree climbing lions that tend to lie on the branches of fig trees and also have a stopover for Lunch.

Afterward, continue with the drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 3: Do Gorilla Trekking & an Evening Cultural Walk to the Local Batwa Communities.

4 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trek & Lake Mburo Wildlife TourFollowing an early morning breakfast, you will continue to the Park headquarters for registration and join other trekkers in an early morning briefing about the etiquette of Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

As soon as the briefing is done, you will enter the jungle to trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas.

The trek may take you between 2-8 hours to encounter the Mountain gorillas and this will mainly depend on the movement of the apes. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists.

Once up close to the apes, you will be given one magical hour to View and interact with these stunning apes plus taking photographs.

Retire back to the starting point after one hour and proceed to your lodge for a late lunch and relaxation. After relaxation, you will be driven to the nearby Batwa community for a memorable, refreshing cultural encounter.

Here you will be guided by a local guide who will take you to the different communities to see how people have managed to survive through farming.

You will see how local brew is processed from fresh Bananas and forest remedies to get beer and Waragi and also enjoy the performances done by the local Batwa women groups.

After that interesting cultural encounter, you will drive back to your respective lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala, Traditional Lunch at Igongo Cultural Center & a Stop at Uganda Equator Crossing Kayabwe

After breakfast, embark on the transfer to Kampala. The long drive of 530 km will take you through rolling winding hills and picturesque southwestern land before approaching or connecting to the Igongo Cultural center situated just 12km from Mbarara town for a traditional thrilling lunch.

Thereafter; you will proceed to have another stop at Uganda Equator Crossing Kayabwe for astounding photo shoots and water experiments.

Afterward, proceed with the drive arriving in Kampala in the evening and the driver guide will drive you to your Kampala hotel or Entebbe international airport for your flight back home.
